Raise Money and Awareness Through Ink Recycling

Thirteen ink cartridges a second are disposed of in the United States. If you are one of the people who have simply thrown their cartridge in the trash, you are not the only one. Millions of Americans have done this even though it is easy to find recycle centers around to take your used cartridge and refurbish it. Ink recycling has not always been as easy as it is now. Recycling centers are easy to locate using green websites and government websites alike.

Companies like Hewlett Packard have begun to send pre-paid envelopes to send your cartridges back in. How much easier can it get? You don’t even have to leave your house and can simply request an envelope that can be stuck in the mail. Ink recycling doesn’t have to be a daunting process and it can raise money too. Some schools have begun collecting cartridges to get money for various organizations. Some websites even pay up to $4.00 per empty ink cartridge. Everyone that uses a printer has to dispose of their cartridge one way or another. Why not recycle it?

Start recycling and make a difference today. Hewlett Packard has been recycling since 1991 and is constantly finding ways to reuse the plastic taken from cartridges. Instead of shredding cartridges as they once did, they are now dismantling them. By changing their original process they can use even more of the plastic that they once did. They enter a closed loop and are recycled into new cartridges for use. Without over saturating our landfills with one more empty ink cartridge, simply mail it back or bring it in to your local Staples store. It will be collected and ultimately made into a new cartridge. Support recycling by purchasing recycled cartridges the next time around.
